A fond farewell and ‘see you again!’

RSG Enkhuizen

The final day of the Erasmus+ Respect 4 Diversity project was one to remember, filled with creativity, reflection and plenty of fun. After a week of engaging activities promoting cultural understanding and collaboration, the pupils came together to complete their final products for the Erasmus+ tree. This symbolic tree bore handwritten positive messages about the week’s lessons on respect for cultures and traditions.

The morning was topped off with the planting of the Erasmus+ tree. Pupils from the three countries dedicated the tree to future generations who would be respectful of each other’s boundaries and borders. The first years were out in force and sang John Lennon’s ‘Imagine.’

After a hearty lunch, the group was given a warm welcome at the Finistère Provincial Government building. Here, the pupils were presented with their official Erasmus+ certificates in recognition of their participation and achievements throughout the week. The ceremony underscored the significance of their efforts and celebrated their commitment to the project’s mission.

The afternoon took a playful turn with a Breton dancing lesson—a cultural highlight that had everyone in stitches as they twirled, clapped and galloped across the room under the enthusiastic guidance of their teachers. The session was a delightful way to connect with the local culture and create lasting memories with newfound friends.

Before the day drew to a close, there was time for a brief exploration of the picturesque town, allowing participants to soak in its charm one last time. The evening culminated in a joyful farewell party, featuring an array of beautifully presented finger foods prepared by students from the hotel school. As music filled the room, the pupils enjoyed dancing and sharing songs from their respective cultures, strengthening the bonds they had built over the week.

The Erasmus+ Respect 4 Diversity project concluded with a perfect blend of reflection, celebration and fun, leaving everyone with a sense of accomplishment and new friendships to cherish.
