Adieu, Adios, Doei and Goodbye

RSG Enkhuizen

Our final day dawned and it was a tough one on all sides. The day started with some Dutch culture with a Scavenger Hunt through Enkhuizen and a list of photos that needed to be made with the group as the cryptic clues were solved. Once back in school, their photos were worth letters, which once unjumbled made words all to do with ‘respect,’ our theme for the week.

The morning continued with a reflection exercise making the pupils think about what they had experienced this week and about how some of their attitudes might have changed after their week learning about respect in The Netherlands. The afternoon involved the pupils presenting what they had learnt to the Councillor for Education, Mr. Bijman and the Head of School, Mr. Kramer. Certificates followed and a film summarising what they have done this week and what a week it has been!

The sheer power of Erasmus was great to see this week in how it connected the youth of our three countries and allowed us to examine a subject that is certainly in danger with the polarisation and changes in politics across the world.

Our thanks to our partner schools and to our pupils from all three schools for a great week together!
