Day 2 in Enkhuizen
4 februari 2025
Our French and Spanish pupils were treated to an hour’s lesson of Dutch from our very own DLE pupils this morning. Learning how to count, greet one another and indeed some basic phrases alongside the days, months and colours. It should be an interesting evening with the Dutch families this evening, who are extending space at their dinner table for our guests to enjoy some Dutch traditional fayre.
The morning progressed into working on our Erasmus+ mural which will be hung up in the large Assembly hall as a piece of art work made by the 92 pupils in the group.
The afternoon opened up the theme of Respect 4 Disability, with Paralympian Paul and Mustafa present to teach the students basketball in a wheelchair. The carrousel of activities was completed with a workshop allowing the pupils to simulate what life is like when dealing with everyday obstacles in a wheelchair. Workshop 3 had our pupils blindfolded and playing football with a bell and workshop 4 had the pupils learning about self-defence in the group RESPECT 4 Yourself.
All in all a lot of learning for our pupils in their international groups and with an evening at home in the Dutch families, day two will certainly rank as a success!
