Erasmus+ in Caravaca

Day 2 broke with a very warm welcome to the town of Caravaca by the mayor, who had invited the international group to the town hall. We heard about how important respect is in today’s society and especially recognising the diversity in society and accepting that we are all different. The mayor praised the schools for bringing the teenagers together from the three countries as these were experiences that the pupils would never forget, all thanks to Erasmus+.

The large group left Plaza del Arco and made its way to Caravaca castle, which became the fifth most frequented churches for pilgrims in Spain, because of its religious relic, being the small portion of the cross of Christ, which are pupils were given special permission to see the special casing of the relic.

Wandering around the streets, the group took in more of the stunning old churches, narrow streets with steep steps and breathed in the history of this beautiful old town.

Lunches were spent away from the teachers today, as the Spanish pupils offered the pupils some tasty local delicacies and tapas. The pupils returned to school, an experience richer!

The rest of the afternoon was spent working on our final products of short films all about diversity and what it means to us. Some went into the studio to use the latest film technology, whilst others set about using their cameras around the school to film their work.
