The Cyprus blog – Erasmus+

Our adventure in Limassol continues, and our students are making the most of their work placement experiences. Through hands-on tasks and real-world challenges, they are gaining valuable skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and communication. The added value of this experience goes beyond the workplace—students are learning adaptability and independence in a professional environment.

One of the highlights of the Erasmus+ programme is that it offers so much more than just work experience. It’s an opportunity to grow personally and culturally, to collaborate with international colleagues, and to broaden perspectives in ways that a classroom simply cannot provide.

This week, we also had the chance to visit Nicosia, Cyprus’ fascinating capital. Walking through the streets, we immersed ourselves in its rich history, crossing the Green Line into the Turkish part of the city. The contrast between the two sides was striking, offering deep insight into Cyprus’ divided past. Of course, no visit would be complete without enjoying a delicious, traditional Cypriot lunch in the Greek part of the city!

Exploring the historical remains of Amathus was another fantastic learning experience. Students, in smaller groups, discovered the remnants of this ancient city, connecting history with the modern landscape of Cyprus.

Beyond the educational and professional aspects, this trip has been an incredible bonding experience for the entire group. Whether training at Power Beach, playing beach volleyball, or coming together to watch football matches, these moments are strengthening friendships and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
